I have mid-2012 MacBook Pro – – 16GB RAM, 500GB drive. I going to need more disk space soon. Aside from getting a new computer, I’m thinking maybe a 1TB Hybride Drive – – Seagate seems to have some. Anyone know if that will help performance?? And, a side note: currently I have a BootCamp (Win7) partition. I don’t necessarily need to bring that forward, but am curious if that’s possible on a hybrid drive.

    Thanks.

An SSD will speed up loading and saving files.

That means booting will be faster, opening apps will be faster, etc.
It won’t make the computer process any faster, but will speed up the overall performance.

MacSales.com has a kit that will let you put in an SSD, and replace the optical drive with the HD, so you can have speed and capacity.
