I have a Netgear wireless router wgr614v9. I read today that I might have to update the firmware. I can’t figure out how to find out what firmware version I have currently installed. I am looking into this because I hear there may be security issues.

I don’t know about that model but with my Netgear router, using the web-based management, under Maintenance > Router Status, it shows the firmware version.`

My Netgear router is a R6300v2. I think at the top of just about each page it is showing the firmware version. Also, under the Administration heading, in the Router Upgrade section, there is a CHECK option where it will query Netgear to see if there is an update available.

This router has a different format from previous Netgear routers I have used (this is their Netgear Genie program) — but I seem to think most recent ones had the ability to check for you.
