Teredo is an IPv6 tunnelling protocol which allows a computer to have an IPv6 address and tunnel it through IPv4. AFAIK, the only widespread deployment of this is Microsoft products. It has nothing to do with VPNs. If United Way had a VPN set up on that Inspiron, it was something besides the Teredo tunnel.
Thanks for the explanation for what that is. I just set up a new Windows 7 installation here, and that thing shows up in the Device Mangler — disabled as needing a driver, (which Microsoft can’t supply). So, I don’t know if that locks me out of IPv6 or not.
