I’m running Mac OS X 10.6.8 with Thunderbird mail through Roadrunner. Recently I’ve been getting spam emails (e.g., “Death Notification”) which, I’ve read, may come from Asprox malware. I haven’t opened any links since the first time I got fooled by an email from a “friend.” I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to block these emails from Thunderbird. Or is the problem my computer?

You can mark the message as junk spam.

The more you train it, the better is becomes with future spam.

Thunderbird doesn’t have a block sender option (usually because spammers rarely use the same sender name again), but there is a filter option

Thanks. I’ve done all that. I have 95 filters currently set up, but spammers keep thinking of new ways to infiltrate (adding spaces between words, using special characters, etc). I guess I’ll just keep sending them to junk and assume my computer is fine.
