    Most Linux-related news these days is about Android yet here’s an example of Desktop Linux still making headway. Reasons given were security, ease of maintenance, and total cost of ownership.

    Good luck to the French on that.
    I got Ubuntu in 2011 & put it on a 100% plain vanilla Dell Celeron with built-in motherboard video card. In early 2013, I attempted to update to the 2013 version. One must do it incrementally, upgrading to the 2012 version first. Well, the 2012 version install halted because it said that no video driver is available for my video card. Sorry – No updates for you. Apparently, the driver that was already installed was incompatible.

    I guess one gets what one pays for…
