    Rev 2

    Avast has turned evil.

    They are now adding advertisements (for themselves) to incoming (and for all I know, outgoing) emails. And they now offer to delete “bloatware” programs that load at startup, but they won’t tell you what they are. And my attempt to contact them hit a wall.

    That sucks, but seems typical of proprietary software.

    Have you looked through the settings of Avast? I don’t have email ads in my emails,but I have disabled them in the past.

    Settings->Active Protection->Mail Shield->Gear (Settings)->Behavior->General and set your preferences.

    I believe, during the Install, you can remove some of the “Bloatware” if you don’t want it. Since you have installed all the options at install, you should be able to go to Add/Remove Programs and Modify the install, if running windows.
    Also, they have a real good Forums for assistance.
    Hope this helps.
