I’m rather astounded by the number of people willing to put their data online for everyone to see. Anything can be hacked/cracked or whatever, so to me, the risk is unacceptable. So no matter how big a fad “the cloud” becomes, it’s not something I will ever use for storage.
I had to choose “Well that’s nice” because as far as I’m concerned, and always have been since I learned what a cloud is, if you’re going to use them…trusting a third party with your data…you deserve exactly what ya get. Come on.
I rarely to never use them. That amounts to only a very minor inconvenience in my life at times. Never will use them, or if I have to by default, you can bet the data will be completely unable to harm me in any way whatsoever. I don’t even use a smart phone yet, and I’m not sure I’m ever going to anyway, could do without the extra EM soup-pollution exposure.
The celebs with the hacked pictures, note, are mostly all kids who have grown up not knowing a world without internet/cell phones. They are pretty much clueless about the concerns. Sorry…ignorance is no excuse.
Best yet: How about the Olympic gymnast McKayla M possibly dealing with child pornography charges for loading nude pics, of her OWN nekked self, on her OWN phone, because she was under 18 at the time.
Riddle me that one one while I ponder how corrupt, sick and backwards our legal system is that they would consider ruining a kid’s life over young nudie pics. If they moved forward against her, she could be stuck being a sex offender for the rest of her life and have to notify areas when she moved into them, etc…
