    Yep. Everybody. Mostly from your bank or credit card company or whatever. No fault of yours, but you’re still hit.

    What gets me — don’t these organizations have anyone watching the henhouse? Seems like an abnormal amount of traffic from some IP address (or range of them) should be cause for someone to take a look at the logs and see what is going on.

    For some of these breaches to take place over months, or even years, is hard to comprehend. And then, for it to take many months for the information about the breach to be leaked out is beyond my expectations.

    I was caught up in a breach of information at one national company I do business with. They signed me up with some outfit that would monitor my credit activities and warn me if anything of concern took place. Costco moved into town, and I opened a credit card I could use with them. That monitoring outfit never caught that.
