Well I don’t use the Play Store on my Android phone so I guess I’m safe. If the malware uses the phone’s installed Play libraries (like most apps) it wouldn’t even run on my phone.
I wonder why such malware couldn’t just a easily be made for Chomebooks. Maybe it’s partially due to the disparity in the number of users. That used to be the explanation for desktop Linux having less malware than Windows.
