The start button may come back, but apparently it will not have the functionality of a traditional start menu. I have bumped back down to Windows 7 in my main laptop for now due to having installed a solid state hard drive (I love it !) last week. I have Windows 8 on the huge hard drive that came with this laptop and depending on my mood, I can throw that in when desired. Really, the solution is the FREE Classic Shell. No reason to complain about Windows 8 as it is when programs such as Classic Shell are available and install in a minute or so. Besides, Classic shell is much, much more configurable than any start menu that Microsoft ever had. I also run Classic shell on this Windows 7 installation.
