Google Play Won’t Update on LG G Pad

If you’ve updated to the latest version of Android (Lollipop, 5.x), and you can’t update Google Play, the first thing you should do is be patient! It can take a couple of weeks for Google to get to you with the newest version.

If Google Play is trying to update, but can’t, you can do a Factory Reset (also known as a Hard Reset).

Warning: This will remove ALL data on the phone. This includes pictures and music. So make sure you have backups of everything. Everything.

From the home screen, press Menu – Backup and reset – Factory data reset – Reset phone. It may ask for a password. Then select Erase everything.

Once you sign in with your Google user information, all of your apps will come back, but not data like music and pictures.

If you’re not sure what to do, bringing your tablet to a reputable dealer is a great idea.
